Policy version: 2026-05-30
The short version: keep your ad honest, keep it clean, and make sure the page it links to is the real thing. Both your image and its landing page have to follow these rules. We review every ad by hand before it runs, and each site can still decide whether it shows on their pages. Break the rules and you can lose advertiser access and any money left on your campaigns.
1. Who this applies to
These guidelines apply to anyone purchasing advertising through the netherBio advertiser dashboard (“Self-Serve Advertising,” Terms §8.5). They cover both your creative (the image we display) and the landing page your ad clicks through to. They are stricter than the rules for content that may merely exist on a bio site: content that is allowed to stay on the Service is not necessarily allowed to be advertised (Terms §8.3).
2. Prohibited content
Your creative and landing page must not contain, promote, link to, or facilitate any of the following:
- Illegal goods, services, or activity. Anything illegal under applicable law, or that promotes, facilitates, or instructs illegal activity.
- Anything involving minors sexually. Any sexualization, exploitation, or endangerment of minors. Zero tolerance. These are reported, not only rejected.
- Gore, graphic violence, or shocking content. Gore, graphic or real-world violence, shocking or gratuitously disturbing imagery, including real or simulated death, serious injury, mutilation, dismemberment, torture, or animal cruelty.
- Adult or sexually explicit material. Pornography or sexually explicit imagery, services, or solicitation. Adult-oriented creatives are not eligible to advertise on the network.
- Hate, harassment, or incitement. Hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying, or incitement to violence against any person or group.
- Weapons, drugs, and other regulated goods. Firearms, weapons, explosives, illegal or recreational drugs, drug paraphernalia, and other tightly regulated goods.
- Malware, phishing, or deceptive downloads. Malware, viruses, credential phishing, deceptive "download" or "you won" creatives, or anything that compromises a visitor’s device or accounts.
- Scams, fraud, and deceptive schemes. Scams, fraud, get-rich-quick and MLM schemes, fake giveaways, account-boosting/“free generator” offers, and other deceptive financial offers.
- Counterfeit or infringing material. Counterfeit goods, pirated media, or anything that infringes another party’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Impersonation or false affiliation. Impersonating a person, brand, or organization, or falsely implying affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
- Self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Content that promotes, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders.
- Private information / doxxing. Personal or private information about an individual shared without their consent.
- Misleading or deceptive creatives. Fake UI (close buttons, system dialogs, fake play buttons), bait-and-switch landing pages, or claims the landing page does not support.
3. Creative specifications & tips
A good creative is simple, legible at a glance, and honest about what it advertises:
- Formats. JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. Animation is supported. We automatically compress and convert uploads to WebP so they load fast on host sites; animated GIFs become animated WebP without losing the animation.
- File size. Up to 2 MB per creative. Because we optimize on upload, a smaller, cleaner image usually looks the same and loads faster. A very long or high-resolution animation may still exceed the limit, so keep animations short.
- Size & shape. Upload a creative that matches the slot your campaign targets. We validate the shape on upload:
- Banner (970×90px). Wide banner below the page. Upload 970×90. Phones show your phone image instead.
- Rail (300×600px). Tall home page ad. Upload 300×600. It sits beside the page on wide screens. Phones show your phone image instead.
- Phone (300×250px). What phones see, on every page. Upload 300×250. It sits below the page, as wide as the screen.
- Legibility. Use high contrast and large, minimal text. If it isn't readable as a thumbnail, it won't work as an ad.
- Honesty. The creative must reflect the actual product or page it links to. We add a visible “Sponsored” label to every placement, so don't design one that imitates site content or a system notification.
- Animation. Keep motion short and subtle: no strobing or flashing, and no fake “close,” “play,” or cursor elements.
4. How review works
- Every campaign is human-reviewed before it can serve. Nothing runs automatically.
- We may reject any campaign for the reasons above, and also on brand-safety or business grounds even where the content is lawful (Terms §8.3, §8.5(b)).
- You must accept this policy when you submit a campaign. Knowingly submitting prohibited content may result in losing advertiser access and forfeiting campaign balances.
- Recipient sites separately approve whether a given campaign runs on their own pages.
5. Refunds
If a campaign is rejected during review, or you cancel before it is approved, it is refundable in full. Once a campaign is approved and serving, payments are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion (Terms §8.5(c)).
6. Questions
The binding terms are in our Terms of Service: §7.3, §8.3, and §8.5. For anything else, contact us at legal@netherbio.com.
